iA Writer
sublimated supports iA Writer's content block syntax. push your writing via git and content blocks render on the web.
see syntax for the full syntax reference, or demo to see everything rendered.
content blocks
a file path on its own line embeds that file:
/data/expenses.csv
/images/cover.pngthis is iA Writer's native syntax for including files. sublimated also supports Obsidian-style embeds (![[file]]) as an alternative.
with titles
/data/expenses.csv "Q4 Expenses"
/data/expenses.csv 'Q4 Expenses'
/data/expenses.csv (Q4 Expenses)all three quoting styles work.
with metadata
iA Writer supports key-value metadata lines after a content block:
/data/chart.csv
Width: 600
Caption: Monthly revenuemetadata lines are preserved and used for rendering.
frontmatter
YAML between --- delimiters at the top of a file:
---
title: My Essay
date: 2026-04-01
---
content here...frontmatter works the same as in Obsidian and standard markdown.
pushing your library
cd my-writing
git init
git add . && git commit -m "initial"
git remote add origin https://sublimated.com/{your-space}/writing.git
git push -u origin mainyour content blocks will resolve and render at sublimated.com/{your-space}/writing. see git for more on cloning and pushing.
what's different
file paths in content blocks resolve from the space root
iA Writer's library structure (folders, smart folders) doesn't carry over — just the files and their content blocks
