what is sublimated?

a place for your files on the web. install the Mac app, pick a folder in Finder, and everything inside is live at sublimated.com — notes, photos, websites, documents, data. every change saved automatically, every version browsable. no terminal, no deploy buttons, no build pipelines.

do I need to know git?

no. the Mac app syncs your files through Finder. save a file, it's online. you never need to open a terminal. git is there under the hood for developers who want it, but it's completely optional.

how does it work?

the Mac app watches your folder and syncs changes in the background. files appear on sublimated.com in seconds. static sites (zola, mdx) build automatically in <1 second via WASM. no build queue, no CI.

where is my data?

EU (Ireland). all storage, database, and compute run on Cloudflare in the EU. data never leaves the EU unless you explicitly share a public link.

is it private?

private by default. only you can see your files unless you explicitly share them. you control access per folder — public, private, or shared with specific people.

custom domains?

yes. every folder can have a *.sublimated.com subdomain (e.g. kanapka.sublimated.com) or your own domain (e.g. mysite.com). set up via config file or the settings UI. see the domains guide.

is it free?

sublimated is in early access. currently free during the preview period.

what file types are supported?

markdown, obsidian vaults, photos, videos, PDFs, typst, LaTeX, spreadsheets (xlsx, csv), jupyter notebooks, marimo notebooks, mermaid diagrams, d2 diagrams, excalidraw, geojson maps, zola sites, mdx pages, marp/reveal.js presentations, and plain files of any type.

how does versioning work?

every change creates a new version automatically. you can browse, compare, or restore any previous version from the web. under the hood it's git, so you can also clone any folder with a standard git client if you want.

how is it different from netlify / vercel / static.app?

sublimated is not a static host — it's a file platform. you get versioning, file rendering, photos, notes, and websites all from the same folder. no build config, no deploy step, no CI pipelines. just files in Finder.

mac app?

download from the App Store. sync any folder — changes appear on sublimated.com in seconds. iPhone app coming soon.

git support?

every URL path is a git repo. git clone https://sublimated.com/yourspace/folder.git. push with standard git. see the git docs.

is there an API?

yes. REST API at api.sublimated.com. create spaces, manage files, versions, branches, domains, and access rules programmatically. auth via bearer tokens.
