git

sublimated speaks git natively. clone, push, fetch, branch — standard git clients work without plugins.

URLs

git clone https://sublimated.com/{space}.git
git clone https://sublimated.com/{space}/{folder}.git
git clone https://sublimated.com/{space}/{folder}/{subfolder}.git

every folder in the tree is independently clonable with its own commit history.

hierarchical versioning

when you change a file, commits are created at every ancestor level.

change anton/blog/archive/post.md:

  1. commit at archive/

  2. commit at blog/

  3. commit at anton/ (space root)

all atomic. each level has a self-contained git history with only the files under that path.

clone at any level

git clone https://sublimated.com/anton.git # whole space
git clone https://sublimated.com/anton/blog.git # just blog + children
git clone https://sublimated.com/anton/blog/archive.git # just archive

each clone gets only files and commits relevant to that subtree. no sparse-checkout needed.

auth

use your API token as git credentials:

# in the URL
git clone https://token:sk_abc123@sublimated.com/anton/notes.git

# or when prompted
Username: token
Password: sk_abc123

creating folders

push to a path that doesn't exist yet — sublimated creates it automatically.

mkdir my-project && cd my-project
git init
echo "# hello" > README.md
git add . && git commit -m "initial"
git remote add origin https://sublimated.com/anton/my-project.git
git push -u origin main

branches

branches are scoped to the folder level where they're created.

create branch draft on anton/blog/archive:

  • visible when you clone anton/blog/archive

  • not visible when you clone anton/blog

when you merge a scoped branch, the changes cascade up to the space root on the default branch.

tags

git tag v1.0
git push origin v1.0

lightweight and annotated tags both work. tags are immutable — updating requires --force.

works with everything

because it's standard git, your existing tools work:

  • any git GUI (Tower, Fork, GitKraken, etc)

  • CI/CD pipelines

  • git log, git diff, git blame, git bisect

  • VS Code, JetBrains, Xcode — anything that speaks git
