git

sublimated speaks git natively. clone, push, fetch, branch — standard git clients work without plugins.

URLs

git clone https://sublimated.com/{space}.git
git clone https://sublimated.com/{space}/{folder}.git
git clone https://sublimated.com/{space}/{folder}/{subfolder}.git

every folder in the tree is independently clonable with its own commit history. see hierarchical versioning for how this works.

clone

git clone https://sublimated.com/docs.git # these docs
git clone https://sublimated.com/docs/git.git # just the git docs
git clone https://sublimated.com/docs/markdown.git # just the markdown docs

each clone gets only files and commits relevant to that subtree. no sparse-checkout needed — real commits exist at every level.

push

push to a path that doesn't exist yet — sublimated creates it automatically.

mkdir my-project && cd my-project
git init
echo "# hello" > README.md
git add . && git commit -m "initial"
git remote add origin https://sublimated.com/{your-space}/my-project.git
git push -u origin main

pushed markdown files render automatically when browsed on the web.

auth

use your API token as git credentials:

# in the URL
git clone https://token:sk_xxx@sublimated.com/{your-space}.git

# or when prompted
Username: token
Password: sk_xxx

works with everything

because it's standard git, your existing tools work:

  • any git GUI (Tower, Fork, GitKraken, etc)

  • CI/CD pipelines

  • git log, git diff, git blame, git bisect

  • VS Code, JetBrains, Xcode — anything that speaks git

  • Obsidian vaults, iA Writer libraries — push and browse on the web
